  1. Mr. Lovato, I remember asking you after school and I thought you said they were due in January… Is it too late to submit?

  2. Hey Jessica,
    If Mr. Lovato says that the entries are due by January, then you’re welcome to make the submission online.

  3. Okay, Thanks Tim, ^_^ well, I guess I’ll submit it on here since I click on the “Bird Droppings Submissions link and it sends me here.

    Girl and boy,
    both in love.
    Holding, hugging
    in the dark.
    Four orbs watch them.
    The moon, above, white.
    Circular streetlamp, a dull yellow.

    Boy and girl,
    moving in close.
    Suddenly, a flash of red.
    A scream, then a pause.
    A giggle; laughter.

    Girl and boy,
    walk home together,
    their red-brown dog close behind.

  4. Here’s another submission, the first verse is supposed to be in italics. XP

    Hair, black as bracken…
    Eyes, bright as–

    I stopped.
    The girl of my dreams walked into the barn.
    She looked at me, I hid;
    pet a horse nearby.

    I glanced back.
    Brother and her exchanged kisses,
    and my heart sinks.
    He notices me, walks over;
    reads my pathetic verses.
    “You like horses?”

    “No,” I said.
